I worked for a Swedish university for 4 years as a Student Ambassador. My job included assignments both within the university and outside of it. From within, I was tasked with helping new students, both internationals and nationals acclimate to their new environment. I organized tours and activities for the freshmen, and would answer any questions they had throughout their introductory periods. Outside, I was sent to educational fairs and conferences, where my job was to set up a stall and promote the university. We traveled all over Sweden, handing out flyers, brochures, answering questions, and working closely with the Swedish Employment Agency. Before accepting the job, we had to go through a two-week course on how to approach strangers, read body language, and optimum methods for promoting the company we were working under.
