Sotho Speaking Talent Needed For A Feature Film!- Will Premiere At The Venice International Film Festival!

We are now casting for  debut feature film from an award-winning, Lesotho-born filmmaker.


The project was one of three in the world selected for the prestigious Biennale Cinema College programme and through its participation, is guaranteed a premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in 2019.

We are open to professional and non-professional performers with vast or zero screen-acting experience. Casting first-language Sotho-speakers is a priority, however performers willing to refine or learn the language are welcome to put themselves forward too.


We are casting for the following roles: 

Lead role:  Mantoa - should look around 70 years old. Must be first language Sotho (lots of dialogue) and very fit physically.

Supporting role: - Pono - 30 - 40 years old. Kind face, singing ability is a plus. Fluent in Sotho.

Various supporting roles for men 35-65yrs - Ideally should be fluent in Sotho.

The film will be shot in Lesotho in March/April 2019.
Rates: TBC Standard feature film rates apply, depending on roles.
All selected talents will be required to send through a showreel and updated CV.
