KWAZULU NATAL/DURBAN CAST CALL FOR A SHORT DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE ZULU WAR!

Role: Sihayo’s Wife / Supporting Role

Shoot Date: 11/11/2020

Shoot Details: Half day shoot at a location close to Durban.

Rate: R1500 for the half-day shoot

Character Details: Female of Zulu origin, age 25-35, with a strong visual presence.

Performance Details: Actress will be required to walk at dusk across the land.

Audition Requirements: Headshots to be supplied as well as a full-body clip of actress walking towards the camera, walking across the camera and walking away from the camera. Actress to also supply clips (head and shoulders) conveying different emotions, looking straight into the camera, portraying the following emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, stress, exasperation and trauma. No dialogue necessary.

Role: Mtweni / Lead Role

Shoot Date: 09/11, 10/11, 24/11, 25/11 & 28/11

Shoot Details: Full Day Shoots, both in Durban and in Zululand / Accommodations & Per diems will be provided.

Rate: R4000 / day

Character Details: Male of Zulu origin, age 25-35.

Performance Details: Actor will be required to be comfortable expressing emotion, be comfortable being submerged in water, be able to run barefoot in grassland.

Audition Requirements: Headshots to be supplied as well as a full-body clip of the actor walking towards the camera, walking across camera and walking away from the camera, running towards camera. Actor to also supply clips (head and shoulders) conveying different emotions, looking straight into the camera, portraying the following emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, stress, exasperation and trauma. No dialogue necessary.

Role: Curling / Supporting Role

Shoot Date: 09/11, 10/11, 24/11, 25/11 & 28/11

Shoot Details: Full Day Shoots, both in Durban and in Zululand / Accommodations & Per diems will be provided.

Rate: R2500 / day

Character Details: Male of English / Caucasian origin, age 25-35.

Performance Details: Actor will be required to be comfortable expressing emotion as well as shedding tears on camera

Audition Requirements: Headshots to be supplied as well as a full-body clip of actor walking towards the camera, looking off into the distance. Actress to also supply portraits conveying different emotions, looking straight into the camera, actress to portray the following emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, stress, exasperation and trauma. The actor also required to shed a tear in an audition tape, can begin rolling once tear is already formed. No dialogue necessary.

Role: Extra's

Shoot Date: 09/11 & 10/11

Shoot Details: Each extra will only required for 3 hours on one of the days for a shoot in Durban

Rate: R150 / hour Character Details: 4 x males of Zulu origin, age 25-35 / 2 x females of Zulu origin age 25 - 35

Performance Details: Extra's will be required to be comfortable expressing emotion, they will be filmed with a resting face and then they will be filmed after performing vigorous exercise.

Audition Requirements: Headshots to be supplied as well as portraits of actors face before exercise, looking straight into the camera, the second clip of actors after vigorous exercise, looking tired, traumatised and weak, also looking straight into the camera.
